Anything but the Grocery Store!

So in the past I have impressed you all with pictures of our amazing gourmet meals. I just wanted to let you know that we don't always eat that way, as was manifested in our menu for this week.

Jayson and I both loathe going to the grocery store and usually put it off as long as possible. This week I think we hit our all time low. We have absolutely nothing to eat, but have been unable to make ourselves head to the store. We were forced to create dinners out of whatever we could dig up out of our sparse cupboards. The pickins were slim, but we managed to come up with something to at least fill our stomachs everynight, however I don't know if you could really call them dinners. Here is how our week went.

MONDAY - Mac 'n Cheese with hot dogs cut up into it and a bit of Famous Dave's Sassy 'n Rich BBQ sauce OPINION: This dinner actually isn't too bad, the BBQ sauce gives it a fun little zip.

TUESDAY - Frozen fish fillets broiled in the oven and then put on a bed of lettuce that was on its last leg, all topped off with some Thousand Island dressing. OPINION: What were we thinking?! Do NOT ever try this "meal" even under the most desperate of circumstances.

WEDNESDAY - Frozen cheese ravioli with spagetti sauce. OPINION - The ravioli's were pretty good, definately probably the best meal of the week, but look at what we were comparing too :)

THURSDAY - A can of chili served over the last of our corn chips and topped with cheese and sour cream OPINION - It tasted pretty good, but didn't really feel like a full meal.

FRIDAY - We finally broke down, but instead of going to the store we just ordered Cafe Rio take out! :) It was an awesome dinner.

SATURDAY - I spent the entire day in Provo working on my thesis so we still didn't make it to the store. I stopped by Panda Express on the way home :)

SUNDAY - We made an incredible discovery! We found we had all the ingedients to make Chili Relleno Casserole so we finally had a real meal. We rounded off the meal with some canned pears and then had blueberry bagels for dessert.

So now the new week is upon us and we still have no food to eat! I think we are finally going to be forced to go to the store for Family Night tomorrow. Plus we are just about out of milk which is usually what finally drives us to the store. :)

totally know what you mean...luckily johnny actually loves going grocery shopping. me-not so much. he's really good at it too, a true coupon clipper who always know exactly what's on sale where and what it costs. i'm glad somebody does it, b/c i hate the grocery store!

Now that's funny! You know, I'm for hire! I surely would have broken down and eaten out every day if we had that little to choose from...especially since I break down and order out when I do have food in the house!

I don't think it has gotten that bad around here. We always have tuna helper or spaghetti or something in a box...not that they always sound good but we have them. We too put off shopping...who has the time??
