Equal Once Again

This week was Jayson's birthday so we are once again the same age (after a month of putting up with his teasing about how I was so old at 27). He was so funny this year, I asked him what he wanted me to make him for his birthday dinner and he said he already had it planned! He wanted steaks, baked potatoes, and asparagus. He bought all the stuff on his own and also cooked the steaks himself. At least I was able to cook the potatoes and the asparagus. The dinner was incredible! Jayson whipped up a delicious marinade for the steaks and then we grilled them on our little grill. Then we topped them off with some Bearnaise sauce. Mmmmm! I felt like it was MY birthday :) After dinner Jayson had to do some stuff for his business so I made him a cake while he was working. It was just a simple yellow cake mix from a box but I added sour cream instead of the oil it called for and it was delicious! Here is a video of him receiving his cake, sorry you have to listen to my pitiful singing :) He was trying to re-enact what I did on my birthday last year. As he was singing me the birthday song I asked him if he was taking a movie cause I thought he was just taking a picture, and then I took a big bite of my cake. He thought it was hilarious for some reason. The only difference was I took a big bite using my fork! :)

I sure love those unexpected moments my crazy, but cute husband surprises me with. Happy birthday babe! I love you!

Happy birthday, Jayson! Can I come to dinner at your house sometime? I'm always reading about these gourmet meals you guys have. :) I love how Jayson just took a huge bite out of that cake, it totally took me by surpise and it made me laugh. It was hillarious!

I love the cake picture at the end--classic. :) That birthday dinner is making my mouth water. I've only had bernaise sauce once and loved it so much that I really don't know why I don't make it more! But besides the sauce, we had an almost identical meal on Sunday. Random. huh?

I just watched this b-day video for the gazillioneth time. Looking at that "innocent", spontaneous, mischevious face, I think it's a foreshadow of little Seaver faces yet to be. (NOT a hint, hint). Birthday or not, life is never dull around your place.
