What Have We Been Up To?

I can't believe it has been over a month since I last posted! We haven't been up to anything to extraordinary, but here are some of the highlights since January.

January 30th - Lord of the Dance
One of our Christmas gifts to ourselves this past year was tickets to Lord of the Dance. It is a show very similar to Riverdance (which we went to last year and loved!). We also were giving our sibling gift to my brother Spencer, who is down in Provo, so we decided to bring him along too. It was such a fun night! The show was spectacular! I can't believe how fast those folks can move their feet! Here is a little taste of the show. This wasn't the actual show we went to (so, no I am not the one taking the illegal movie :) I liked this clip though for 3 reasons; 1) the music isn't on for the first part. Sometimes the music was a bit loud and overpowered all the cool rhythms that they were doing with their feet. 2) You can see/hear one of my favorite moves, when they click their feet together in mid-air. 3) You can see/hear my other favorite move, when they all stomp down the line. You can stop watching after the first 3 minutes (if you watch at all) because after that they just keep doing encore after encore.



January 31st - Snow Shoeing
We went snow shoeing for the first time with my friend Jessica Beesley and her fiance Eric. It was great fun! The weather was gorgeous and it was great to be up enjoying the fresh air of the mountains (the Utah valleys were in the middle of an inversion at the time). Here are some photos of our adventure. Don't worry I helped Jayson get up from his 3 falls, but only after we snapped some pictures of him lying helpless in the snow (it is not wise to try and back-up when wearing snow shoes :)



February 7-8th - Sisters!
My sister Molly was in town for a few days and stayed with us for a couple of those. I don't get to see my sister nearly as often as I would like! It was so fun to have her here. She introduced us to an awesome movie, "Lars and the Real Girl". I don't know how we missed it when it came out! It has a pretty "independent movie" feel to it, with a pretty quirky story line, but we got a lot of laughs out of it. Thanks Molls for the fun time!

February 14th and 15th - Stake Conference
That's right folks, we spent Valentine's Day evening at the adult session of Stake Conference! Can't get more romantic than that right? I think Jayson was secretly pleased because it took the pressure off him to try and plan something :) Stake Conference was actually really good. Both sessions were about loving our neighbors and being a support to one another.

February 21st - Beauty and the Beast
I made Jayson take me to see the musical stage production of Beauty and the Beast. Okay, I didn't MAKE him go, I would never do that :) I just told him that I wanted a date night and that was what we would be doing :) I have long wanted to see this production. My dream would be to see it on Broadway, but since that probably won't happen anytime soon I figured that the Woods Cross High School production would be the next best thing. I know you are probably thinking, "A high school play? How good can that be?" Well is was spectacular! Woods Cross High is known for their incredible musical theater department and they lived up to their reputation. The singing, sets, costumes, effects were all fantastic. Belle was phenomenal and Lumiere absolutely stole the show! Gaston was a hoot as well. It was so fun to finally see this production. I love all the extra songs that have been added, especially "Home". So if you ever get the chance to see it, go!
