I Like It, I Love It and Not So Much

Here are some things I have liked, loved, and been not too thrilled with during the past week.

I LIKE IT

Last week I got 4 potted flowers from school. I got flowers as thank you's from 3 mom's of students that I have and then a pot of lilies from the special education team as a goodbye gift. I am totally in love with the pink lilies, there are dozens of them blooming and they smell so incredible. I was told that they will come back year after year if you plant them. Now if only I had a yard I could plant them in.

I LOVE IT

My adorable friend and long-time roommate Jessica Beesley got married over Memorial Day weekend. She looked absolutely gorgeous and I am so happy for her and Eric. She has moved as far down the alphabet you can get and is now Jessica Zetterquist. The unforgettable moment of the day was when they came out of the temple and the first words out of her nieces mouth were, "Now you can have a baby!"

I LOVE IT

I got all of the following items for only $31.86 (included shipping), notice the quantities:

• 1 lb. of Chili Blend (contains the perfect blend of spices needed to make an awesome chili)


• 4oz. of Allspice Powder


• 1 lb. of poppy seeds


• 1 pint of Almond Extract


• 1 lb. of dried red bell peppers (going into my food storage so that we have something to add a little flavor to our food storage meals)


• Some slices of crystalized ginger (I didn't order this but my friend gave me some from her order)

My friend at work was doing an order from the San Francisco Herb Company and invited me to piggyback on her order. I am so glad I did, this stuff is awesome and the prices are incredible! We have already made some delicious chili and I am really excited to try out the ginger and make some Poppy Seed Bread with my seeds and almond extract.

I LIKE IT

I am finally done with all my dental work, at least for a while! I have been to the dentist 6 times in the past 2 months getting two crowns and three fillings taken care of. I should be good now for at least a couple more months :)

I LOVE IT

We have our tickets to go up to Seattle this summer! I haven't been home since October of 2007, it is about time!

I LIKE IT

I went to a shoe party hosted by my friend this week and got 3 pairs of shoes for only 10$ each and one pair for $15! The company is called Cents of Style and they also sell belts, jewelry, and handbags. Here are 3 of my pairs, the 4th is being sent to me because she didn't have my size, they are similar to the yellow flats but are a kelly green plaid with a buckle across the toes.

I LOVE IT

I love the fact that we have at least 22 restaurants within 25 minutes or less walking distance from our apartment. It probably isn't good that we eat out so much (never more than once a week :), but I do like that lately we have made it at least somewhat productive by walking to dinner instead of driving. Last night we ate at Rumbi Island Grill. Mmmmmm

NOT SO MUCH

I did not like that when we got home from work yesterday we found our bathroom flooded with about 1/3 inch of water. Our upstairs neighbor had their toilet tank running/overflowing THE ENTIRE DAY! It had flooded their bathroom and then started spilling down into ours. It seeped out into the carpet of our hallway/closet and bedroom. It also spilled down our counter into one of our cupboards where it ruined our newly bought supplies of toilet paper (about 12 rolls) and feminine products. I spent about an hour and a half sopping up the standing water, wiping the bathroom down and clearing everthing off the wet carpet. I am so glad my wedding dress, which was in the closet, was in a waterproof bag. Luckily the only damages we sustained were the lossof the toiletries. The apartment building isn't quite so lucky (now is when it is nice to be renters). I don't feel too bad for them though because the management has been completely unhelpful during the entire matter. Last night we called them and let them know what was going on and they were like, "Ya, ya, we have someone coming over to take care of the carpets with a wet-vac." We didn't see anyone until this afternoon and he just brought a huge fan over that he is leaving here until Monday. Then today the gigantic mirror in our bathroom came crashing off the wall scaring me half to death! The dry wall is so wet that the screws holding the mirror in pretty much just crumbled out. The corner of the mirror cracked and now it is just sitting on our counter. Managmenet said they would send someone over to look at it, but we still haven't seen anyone. I know it could all be a lot worse, but it still has been kind of a pain.
