What Have We Been Up To?

I got blogging overload posting all about our trip to Seattle, so I have taken a bit of a break. Some big things have happened in our house though during the past couple weeks so I thought I had better post them now before they become old news.

On August 21st Jayson quit his job, well actually he turned in his notice before we went to Seattle, but his last day was August 21st. A lot of people have kind of looked at us like we were crazy when we tell them Jayson is quiting his job at a time when jobs are so scarce. I won't go into all the details of our decision, but it really is the best thing for our family right now. He was miserable at his job and this way he can go to school full-time and get done with his second degree faster. Here he is coming home on his last day of work.
In celebration of quitting his job he asked me to give him what he has now dubbed "The Freedom Cut". When he quit his part-time banking job in college (to take a trip with his buddies to Hawaii) he buzzed his head in honor of the occasion. He decided that he wanted to keep up the tradition so we buzzed his head.

Also, since quitting his job he has landed some really big breaks with his business so he has actually been busier than ever the last few weeks.

In other news I have started work up again. Summer vacation was so nice and it has been hard to get back into the daily work routine, but I am slowly getting there. I am working at two different schools this year up in the Ogden area.

So that is a little update on us. Things have been busy and I have been so drained after work that I don't feel like blogging, but other than the employment news you haven't missed too much with us.

We did go on a fun date a couple weekends ago to an outdoor concert up in the mountains. It is always nice to be outdoors and enjoy a good concert. The artist was actually a fairly famous country musician, Eric Heatherly, which kind of surprised me. I didn't expect to see a top hit artist at a little local concert. It was a really great concert and we enjoyed the time together and hanging out with our friends Bishan and Sarah.

Oh, how could I forget?! Jayson also had his birthday a couple weeks ago, the big 28! Now we are the same age again :) We had a yummy breakfast of parfaits and Sam's Club muffins. Then Jayson went to hit a bucket of balls and we went out to dinner with Grandma Cutler to finish off the day.
