Last night for our Saturday evening date we decided to be self sufficient. Instead of going out to eat and paying for overpriced food, we made our own dinner and dessert. We made the most incredibly delicious chicken alfredo pizza. Toppings included: garlic chicken, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, bacon, cherry tomatoes (from our garden!), green onions, and of course a healthy portion of mozarella cheese! We made it on the pizza stone we got for our wedding so the crust was cooked to perfection. It was pretty much one the most delicious pizzas ever. During dinner we did some rough estimations and figured that it cost us about $7.80 to make (it would have been $2.00 less if we hadn't splurged on the artichoke hearts). So we were feeling proud of ourselves for enjoying a gourmet pizza at about 1/3 the cost of what we would have spent at a restaurant. Plus it was big enough that we are going to get two meals out of it. So really we fed the two of us for only $3.90!!! Pretty incredible, huh? It made us wonder why we ever eat out. So after our incredible
dinner we of course had to follow up with something amazing for dessert, which is exactly what we did. My parents gave us an ice cream maker for Christmas last year, which we hadn't used yet, so we decided to make its debut last night. We made cookies & cream ice cream that was to die for. We used Halloween Oreos, hence the orange chunks that are in the ice cream. Despite the color, the taste was awesome. We can't wait to make more!!! If anyone ever decides they want to come visit in Clearfield we will hook you up with some delicious homemade ice cream.

Well, I didn't want to come visit you before, but now I do just for the ice cream. Totally joking! Sounds like you're quite the gourmet chef! Wow! Sounds like it was delicious! I feel bad that I didn't get to talk to you a little more at Matt's wedding, but there was so many people there to say "hi" to, plus my kids keep me running. So do you guys have a house? Just wondering because you mentioned a garden. Good for you if you do! I don't know why I'm not just emailing you. You'll have to comment on my blog or send me an email. Love Always!
