A Rather Humble Halloween

We were pretty boring for Halloween this year. We got back from Seattle very late the night before Halloween, so our costumes were kind of lacking. We didn't really even dress up for anything except for work. Even though it was simple, I thought Jayson's costume was pretty clever. He works in a mortgage office with all women, except for three guys. All the women decided that the whole office should dress up as witches. Well Jayson wasn't too thrilled about dressing up as a witch so he decided that he would represent the males of the office by being a "man-witch". We bought a can of Manwich, peeled off the label and cut it in half. We pinned the part with the nutritional information to the back of his shirt and pinned the other half to his front. Sadly, we didn't take a picture, but by looking at a can of Manwich you can pretty much see what his entire costumes looked like. Just imagined it pinned to the front of a shirt :)

For my costume I just grabbed my cowboy hat and boots out of the closet and dressed up as a cowgirl. I wore the same shirt I am wearing in this picture and had my hair in braids as well, so this is pretty much what I looked like (minus the squirrel, which is a story in itself). I am so lazy that I usually wear my hair up everyday to work so no knows how long my hair is, a couple people asked me if my braids were my real hair! :)

Our ward had a Trunk 'r Treat but we didn't attend, those things aren't quite the same if you don't have kids of your own. Plus we were pretty exhausted from our trip to Seattle, so we just spent Halloween night at home and it was pretty quiet. Not a single kid even knocked on our door for Trick-or-Treating! Which was a good thing I guess because we didn't have any candy to give them! :)

Despite the lack of Halloween spirit in our lives this year, it was still an exciting holiday because it marked the last major holiday that we will celebrate for the first time as a married couple. We will be celebrating our 1st anniversary just a few days before Thanksgiving! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by.
